Job summary

Black Hills Energy seeks a Data Center Development Manager to support growth plans for data center opportunities. You will engage customers, coordinate internal teams, and help structure commercial agreements to advance strategic growth initiatives.

You will interact with senior leadership, manage cross-functional program workstreams, and travel up to 25% to support opportunities across Rapid City, Cheyenne, and Denver markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Public Policy or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in energy sector roles related to business development, finance, account management, project management, strategic planning, or commercial growth.
• Experience in the utility industry or data center environments is required.
• Strong understanding of data center industry and its operational needs.
• Ability to build and maintain a broad network of industry contacts and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate commercial development activities for data center opportunities, including customer engagement and executive-level support.
• Support negotiations, briefings, and partner engagements with the VP of Strategic Growth and Director of Data Centers.
• Assist in developing customer agreements and related commercial arrangements.
• Lead cross-functional coordination across regulatory, engineering, finance, legal, and operations to advance opportunities.
• Identify and communicate risks affecting scope, schedule, and budget for growth initiatives.
• Develop materials, dashboards, meeting summaries, and decision logs for executive management.
