Job summary

Zones seeks an experienced Field Service Engineer to support enterprise server hardware across customer and company data centers in Newark, NJ. The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience, strong diagnostics, and the ability to work independently in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities include server installation, break-fix maintenance, hardware replacements, and collaboration with NOC and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise server hardware in data centers.
• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with server platforms from major manufacturers.
• Strong hardware diagnostics and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
• Ability to read technical docs, wiring diagrams and installation procedures.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and work in raised-floor data center environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and deploy enterprise server hardware in data center environments.
• Perform break-fix maintenance and hardware replacements for servers and storage devices.
• Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures (GPUs, CPUs, RAM, RAID, power supplies).
• Conduct preventive maintenance and health checks on data center equipment.
• Coordinate with NOC and data center teams; document activities in ticketing system.
