Job summary

Convergint is seeking a Field Project Manager for data center projects in Amarillo, TX. You will oversee installation, programming, startup, and training on Fire, Security, and Building Automation systems, ensuring projects stay within scope, budget, and schedule.

You’ll lead a team of specialists and installers, coordinate with the Project Coordinator, manage subcontractors, and drive customer satisfaction while upholding high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong supervision skills and installation experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
• Strong field supervision skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Frequent visits to jobsites; minimal overnight travel; valid driver’s license.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversees overall site management of project(s) for successful and timely completion within budget and scope of work.
• Works with the Project Coordinator to prepare project installation plan and implement job procedures.
• Supervises Project Specialists, Installers and subcontractors in the field; mentors and develops colleagues.
• Recruits and hires Project Specialist and Installers; manages performance of direct reports.
• Coordinates and supervises subcontractors and on-site activities; ensures QA standards.
• Assists in coordination of specific projects; recommends changes in scope to improve customer satisfaction.
• Identifies project risks and helps develop strategies to minimize impact and control costs and deadlines.
• Ensures installation quality per national/local codes and company standards.
• Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services systems like security, fire/life safety, and building automation.
