Job summary

EOS IT Solutions is seeking an experienced Data Center Field Operations Lead to guide the infrastructure engineering team in a data center environment. You will oversee low voltage cabling installation, fiber optics, and rack and stack activities, while coordinating workloads and escalating issues to ensure reliable services.

The role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of BICSI/NEC standards, and hands-on experience with DSX 5000 and OTDR testing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading teams in data center cabling projects.
• Experience installing, terminating, and testing low voltage cabling.
• Strong knowledge of BICSI/NEC standards.
• Certifications preferred (e.g., BICSI TECH).

Responsibilities

• Directly manages technician teams at the assigned site, including coaching, development, onboarding, training and accountability.
• Coordinate daily support operations, workload distribution, ticket queue oversight, and escalation triage.
• Approve timecards accurately for billing.
• Oversee installation, service and maintenance of low voltage cabling and communications cabling.
• Lead and mentor a team in pulling cables, racking and stacking equipment, and managing data center cabling infrastructure.
• Ensure fiber and copper connections meet quality standards and oversee troubleshooting.
• Develop and enforce SOP/CMOP guidelines.
• Manage work ticket systems and infrastructure interfaces for project execution.
• Oversee documentation and validate port maps, and provide advanced troubleshooting.
• Direct power distribution and cable management tasks to optimize performance and safety.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to complete projects efficiently.
• Enforce procedures and safety regulations; manage information for operations management.
• Maintain equipment and supplies inventory and respond to emergencies to meet SLAs.
• Drive escalation for complex issues and ensure resolution by the right team.
• Lead use of DSX 5000 tester/OTDR tester and manage test results.
