Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Data Center Service Delivery Field Support Engineer (L2) to provide professional second-line onsite technical support and field engineering for clients. You will proactively manage incidents to meet SLAs and restore services, handling standard and low complexity tasks and coordinating with client environments, carriers and colleagues.

The role emphasizes experience with data center networking equipment such as Nexus and MDS, and requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Computing or related field.
• Professional level certification in Data Centre technologies such as Cisco, NetApp, EMC/DCNP etc.
• Moderate experience building, deploying and supporting data center networking infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure client site infrastructure is configured, installed, tested and operational.
• Install and configure software as part of the solution per client requirements.
• Identify problems and log incidents with sufficient detail.
• Liaise with client IT, carriers and colleagues to expedite diagnosis and resolution.
• Investigate second line support calls to identify root causes.
• Respond to alerts and escalate to L3 when needed.
• Update incidents with progress and resolution details promptly.
• Apply tools and processes to track, log, and correct configuration items.
• Investigate problems in systems and assist with remedies and preventative measures.
• Provide second line remote and onsite technical support to clients.
• Provide second line field engineering services onsite.
• Report and escalate issues to 3rd party vendors when necessary.
• Follow handover procedures to ensure service continuity.
