Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Sparks, NV is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facilities, including diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems.

You will work with a diverse team to ensure high availability and safety, with shifts up to 12 hours and potential travel between sites. The role requires physical work, the ability to lift up to 39 lbs, and willingness to relocate or travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office applications experience.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with practices and local regulations.
