Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical facilities. You will work with electrical and mechanical equipment, including standby generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, CRAC and cooling systems, across multiple data centers.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and cost-efficient operations. Expected interactions include on-site support for contractors and vendors, with shifts up to 12 hours and possible site rotation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations as needed.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Create technical documentation to support change management.
