Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician in the United States.

The role provides hands-on maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment in mission-critical facilities, with focus on diesel generators, UPS, PDUs, switchgear, chillers, cooling towers, and fire/life safety systems. The technician supports site operations with rigorous safety standards, 12-hour shifts, and travel between locations as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical facilities maintenance experience
• 1+ years of mechanical facilities maintenance experience
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
• Willingness to travel between data center locations as needed

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLAs
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Technical writing to support change management program
• Monitor daily work requests and drive to resolution
• On-site support of contractors and vendors ensuring compliance with practices and laws
