Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician in Sparks, NV to support critical infrastructure with hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance.

You will monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain data center systems including standby diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling equipment, ensuring high uptime and safety. Responsibilities include daily rounds, BMS/EPMS monitoring, rack work, PM tasks, and on-site coordination with contractors.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Work a flexible work schedule including evenings, overnights, and weekends.
• 1+ years of electrical facilities maintenance, or 1+ years of mechanical facilities

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with practices and local legislation.
• Shift schedules can be up to 12 hours and may rotate; some locations have on-call rotations.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
