Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Engineer in our Advanced Manufacturing group to contribute to data center facilities engineering, design, and construction. The role is location-flexible across the U.S., with opportunities to work on power distribution, UPS and grounding systems, and low voltage communications within complex facilities.

You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, perform design package reviews, and interact with clients and contractors to support construction on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• 3 or more years' experience in engineering design of medium and low voltage distribution systems, building electrical systems, and campus-style power distribution including conveyance.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with industrial facility design
• Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software
• Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) is preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• At least 3 years of data center facility design experience
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
• Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
• Passionate about buildings and construction
• Experience in the design of large projects established on greenfield sites

Responsibilities

• Design data center facility power distribution systems, UPS, emergency systems, grounding, lighting, and low voltage communications.
• Interact with client, owner, and contractors to assist construction on site.
• Provide design work and perform quality reviews of design packages.
• Collaborate with broader multi‑discipline team to establish design requirements and produce construction documents.
• Manage quality, scope, budget and schedule for projects.
