Job summary

Jacobs is hiring an Electrical BIM Designer to lead Revit BIM modeling and 2D drawing production for electrical systems within data center projects. You will coordinate with disciplines to maintain clash-free models and adhere to Jacobs standards, delivering accurate constructible documentation.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, organizational skills, and collaboration within a hybrid work model across U.S. offices and remote locations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• Growing understanding of codes and standards in design decisions.
• Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling based on mark-ups or directions.

Responsibilities

• Design documentation and setup/management of Revit BIM models.
• Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across disciplines.
• Produce 2D construction drawings.
• Coordinate with other designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers.
• Turn design intent into constructable deliverables while maintaining standards.
