Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Project Manager with data center design experience to join our Industrial Facilities Design team. You will lead large, multi-discipline projects from concept through startup across multiple U.S. locations, coordinating architecture and engineering teams while balancing scope, schedule, budget and quality.

The role includes client liaison, risk management, and opportunities for career growth within an employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience managing projects in Engineering and Construction.
• Proven experience managing the design or construction of data center projects, preferably in an engineering consulting environment.
• Knowledge of contract management, pre-construction, renovations, and construction administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-discipline projects across all phases, ensuring effective team development and performance.
• Manage client relationships to exceed expectations and serve as primary contact for project delivery.
• Define project scope, develop work plans, allocate resources, and align team capabilities with project needs.
• Execute projects within approved budget, funding, and schedule, following the Project Execution Plan.
• Oversee technical, cost, and schedule performance ensuring quality standards and contractual compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and communicate issues to leadership.
• Facilitate change management with clients for scope and schedule variations.
• Coordinate meetings and maintain documentation across stakeholders.
• Approve and issue project documents, monitor progress, and generate client reports.
• Manage invoicing and support cash flow with accounting.
