Job summary

QTS Realty Trust seeks a Critical Operations Technician II to install, repair, and maintain IT, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems in a 24x7 data center environment. You will monitor equipment, perform routine tests, and handle customer interactions on the Data Center floor both in person and by phone.

Responsibilities include coordinating with systems engineers, completing work orders, and ensuring safe operation of building infrastructure. On-site role with no remote option.

Qualifications

• Five or more of technical training, military training, or workplace equivalency.
• Background in IT, electrical, and/or mechanical fields.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Two or more years of data center, NOC, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Certifications such as A+, Network+, BICSI Installer I are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain IT, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment and controls.
• Provide remote hands and eyes services for customers and document outcomes.
• Process work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance and update tickets accordingly.
• Respond to emergencies and customer requests and escalate when needed.
• Operate and monitor critical and non-critical system equipment for safe operation.
