QTS Data Centers in the United States seeks a Critical Operations Technician I to install, repair, and maintain IT, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing/piping equipment in a 24x7x365 data center.

The role requires on-site work with customer interaction on the Data Center floor and ticketing system management. Candidates should have IT/electrical/mechanical background and be comfortable with around-the-clock support.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of technical training, military training, or workplace equivalency.
• Background in IT, electrical and/or mechanical.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Applies learning, knowledge, skills, and company policies to IT, electrical and mechanical equipment, controls, and operating systems.
• Leads, maintains, monitors, and performs preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment; records readings and adjusts to ensure proper operation.
• Provide remote hands and eyes services for customers.
• Provide high level computer hardware and software configuration support and install equipment per provisioning docs.
• Installs and repairs IT, mechanical, and electrical equipment; assist others with major repairs and maintenance.
• Process work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance; order tools and equipment as required.
• Create and update tickets in the ticketing system for customer calls and alerts.
• Operate and monitor critical and non-critical system equipment for safe operation.
• Respond to building emergencies and customer requests.
