Job summary

QTS Data Centers in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Critical Operations Technician I to install, repair, and maintain IT, electrical and mechanical systems inside a 24x7 data center. You will monitor operations, run tests, manage tickets, and assist customers on the Data Center floor, both in person and by phone.

This on-site role requires physical stamina, works with hardware/software, and collaborates with systems engineers to resolve alerts, with no remote or hybrid options.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of technical training, military training, or workplace equivalency.
• Background in IT, electrical, and/or mechanical.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Applies learning, knowledge, skills, and company policies to IT, electrical and mechanical tasks.
• Leads, maintains, monitors, and performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Provide remote hands and eyes services for customers.
• Provide high level computer hardware and software configuration support.
• Installs and repairs IT, mechanical, and electrical equipment as required.
• Processes work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Creates and/or updates tickets within the ticketing system.
• Operates and monitors critical and non-critical system equipment.
• Responds to building emergencies and customer requests.
• Complies with hazardous materials policies.
• Uses Change Management Process to approve maintenance and document actions.
