Job summary

Google LLC is seeking a Plant Engineer (Controls) to lead reliability and efficiency of critical data center infrastructure. You will own PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and BMS platforms, coordinating with senior facility technicians to sustain performance and safety across the site.

You will optimize cooling/power sequences, manage operational risks, and drive metrics like PUE/WUE, while reducing costs. Strong collaboration with global teams is essential for successful infrastructure changes.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7 years of experience in Controls/Automation in industrial or commercial environments.
• Experience with SCADA/EPMS/BMS including monitoring, alarming, troubleshooting and HMI operation.
• Experience diagnosing software/hardware errors and managing Linux in an industrial control environment.
• Experience troubleshooting, programming, or designing PLC/DCS architectures (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for critical system troubleshooting, commissioning, and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Serve as SME on controls systems such as SCADA, control loops, automation, and instrumentation.
• Analyze telemetry data to optimize cooling and power efficiency and collaborate with design engineers.
• Coordinate with global engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and approve MOPs/SOPs.
• Respond to data center events/alarms and support RCA investigations.
