Job summary

Design Group, part of Barry-Wehmiller, is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead the on-site deployment of control systems for large-scale data center projects. You will configure, validate, and commission systems across multiple sites, coordinating with electricians and project teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution.

You will bring hands-on experience with PLC/SCADA deployments, strong teamwork, and a willingness to be on-site across the regional cluster.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience starting up control systems with significant onsite time.
• Strong communicator and ability/desire to work within large teams.
• Deployment Engineer must reside near data centers for quick access to sites.

Responsibilities

• Deploys greenfield data centers including BMS and EPMS.
• Receives designs and deploys them at each site.
• Performs point-to-point checkout of thousands of devices.
• Configures communication protocols for equipment including switchgear and breakers.
• Configures and calibrates instruments (meters, VFDs, flow meters).
• Deploys and commissions Ignition, Rockwell or similar SCADA/PLC systems.
• Provides guidance to Design Group subcontractors on site.
