Job summary

Google is seeking a Data Center Controls Engineer Lead to define the system-level product architecture and drive R&D for its AI/ML data centers. You will be the primary technical authority for electrical and mechanical controls, ensuring designs comply with BMS, EPMS, and ICS standards.

You will lead cross-discipline teams, guide design, testing, and commissioning of mission-critical facilities, and collaborate with operations to translate complex problems into scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience working on critical infrastructure projects related to process improvements.
• Experience with mission-critical systems (24x7 and no-fail) and operations (e.g., power generation, data center, refinery, chip fabrication, chemical plant processing).

Responsibilities

• Define system-level product architecture, and drive Research and Development, while helping to partner with operations and maintenance teams for systems/processes.
• Drive electrical and mechanical controls system related engineering analysis and design development for data center equipment and facilities.
• Ensure designs and solutions meet evolving business requirements for AI/ML data centers.
• Act as the definitive technical point of contact to resolve ambiguities in the sequence of operations and verify compliance with design intent.
• Lead cross-discipline engineering teams to implement and deliver advanced controls engineering projects through authoritative technical direction.
