Job summary

Google is seeking a Data Center Controls Engineer Lead to define system-level product architecture and drive R&D for AI/ML data centers. You will be the primary technical authority, guiding electrical and mechanical controls analyses and ensuring designs meet evolving needs, while coordinating with operations and maintenance teams across data centers.

You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, resolve operational ambiguities, and ensure compliance with design intent, leveraging BMS, EPMS, and ICS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience working on critical infrastructure projects related to process improvements.
• Experience with mission-critical systems (24x7 and no-fail) and operations (e.g., power generation, data center, refinery, chip fabrication, chemical plant processing, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Define system-level product architecture, and drive Research and Development, while helping to partner with operations and maintenance teams for systems/processes.
• Drive electrical and mechanical controls system related engineering analysis and design development for data center equipment and facilities.
• Ensure designs and solutions meet evolving business requirements for AI/ML data centers.
• Act as the definitive technical point of contact to resolve ambiguities in the sequence of operations and verify compliance with design intent.
• Lead cross-discipline engineering teams to implement and deliver advanced controls engineering projects through authoritative technical direction.
