Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers rely on robust BMS and EPMS controls to maintain uptime. This role joins the global controls team to troubleshoot, manage projects, and develop new standards for BMS/EPMS systems across multiple sites.

You will train internal customers, conduct root-cause analyses, and coordinate procurement, commissioning, and on-call support to ensure safety, reliability and efficiency of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and SOPs.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent + 5 years controls experience, or 10 years without a degree.
• 5+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data centers, pharma, manufacturing, oil & gas, etc.).
• 4+ years of general project or vendor management experience in construction/project execution.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for BMS/EPMS issues in AWS data centers.
• Train internal customers on design, configuration, validation, installation and operation of BMS/EPMS.
• Provide technical assistance to operations during the data center life cycle.
• Review quarterly maintenance results and resolve open items.
• Develop project scope, schedule, budget and LOE for BMS/EPMS initiatives.
• Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS/EPMS improvement projects.
• Assist in procurement activities including RFx, vendor quotes and PO issuance.
• Participate in AWS global on-call for BMS/EPMS support.
• Attend project meetings and report status to Controls leadership.
• Support commissioning activities and feedback to design teams.
• Develop/modify controls logic programming and GUIs.
• Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations.
• Financially manage BMS/EPMS service contracts.
• Frequent local visits to in-operation data centers to troubleshoot and supervise vendor work.
