Job summary

Amazon’s Data Center Construction team in Johnstown, OH is seeking a Data Center Project Engineer to lead cross-functional interfaces with contractors and internal teams and support on-site construction delivery.

You will manage documentation, RFIs, change orders, and schedules while coordinating with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to ensure high-quality, timely data center builds for AWS customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of vendor management experience.
• 4+ years of data center or other critical environment experience.
• 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Leading cross-functional communication and coordination between regional general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring seamless information flow for construction protocols, documentation access, and standardized procedures
• Developing and maintaining comprehensive tracking systems for design modifications, RFIs, and change orders, creating detailed dashboards with priority levels and deadlines for regional leadership review
• Evaluating Method of Procedure (MOP) submissions for thoroughness, necessity, and risk assessment
• Managing vendor onboarding processes, including security credentialing and orientation programs
• Maintaining current project management software with critical milestone updates, correspondence records, and document control
• Coordinating and monitoring owner-furnished material deliveries to ensure timely arrival at construction sites
• Establishing and managing a centralized repository for contractor-supplied construction data
• Overseeing quality assurance programs through implementation of various checklists, including substantial completion verification, safety protocols, and quality control measures
