Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Boardman, Oregon, seeks a Data Center Project Engineer to join a diverse team of engineers and operations professionals.

You will support on-site construction management, coordinate RFIs, change orders, and ensure timely delivery of electrical and mechanical systems for AWS data centers. This role emphasizes cross-functional communication with contractors and internal teams, strict documentation control, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of vendor management experience.
• 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
• 3+ years in construction or project management.
• Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional communication between regional contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Develop and maintain dashboards for design modifications, RFIs, and change orders.
• Evaluate Method of Procedure (MOP) submissions for thoroughness, necessity, and risk assessment.
• Manage vendor onboarding processes, including security credentialing and orientation programs.
• Maintain current project management software with critical milestone updates, correspondence records, and document control.
• Coordinate and monitor owner-furnished material deliveries to ensure timely arrival at construction sites.
• Establish and manage a centralized repository for contractor-supplied construction data.
• Overseeing quality assurance programs through implementation of checklists, safety protocols, and quality control measures.
