Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager in Atlanta, GA to lead construction projects for large-scale data centers.

You will manage scope, schedule, and budget while interfacing with general contractors and internal partners across Operations, Networking, and Security to deliver reliable, cost-efficient facilities. The role emphasizes on-site leadership, coordination with trades, and ensuring quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) plants experience.
• 4 years of general contractor and vendor management experience (RFPs, bidding, change orders, QC, RFI/submittal tracking).
• 6 years of experience constructing electrical engineering systems including large scale power distribution/generation gear and cooling systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science OR 9 years of related construction management experience in lieu of a degree

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with construction general contractors during the bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch list phases.
• Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
• Create construction project scope and requests for proposals.
• Perform financial analysis of construction.
• Manage construction projects for initiatives aimed at increasing the resiliency of data centers.
• Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
• Manage construction documents including submittal review, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing.
• Ensure construction project quality control and report key metrics to team and management.
• Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis of equipment.
• Be a leader within the group and with internal/external teams supporting the data center.
