Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager to lead the execution of large-scale electrical and mechanical systems for new data centers.

You will collaborate with Operations, Networking, Controls and Security to deliver high-performance facilities that meet safety and cost targets. You will be on-site daily, managing general contractors and vendors, driving cost, schedule, and quality, and owning project scope and budgets.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large, complex construction projects with MEP systems.
• 8+ years building and managing MEP and critical infrastructure.
• 8+ years managing general contractors, vendors, RFIs, change orders and submittals.
• Degree or 12+ years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with general contractors during bidding, award, execution and closeout phases.
• Negotiate bids and evaluate proposals with accuracy.
• Define project scope and prepare RFPs for construction.
• Perform financial analysis and manage project budgets.
• Drive cost, schedule and quality improvements across data center builds.
• Lead constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs.
• Oversee construction documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders and invoicing.
• Record and report key metrics to stakeholders and leadership.
• Lead teams to troubleshoot equipment failures and root causes.
