Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Project Engineer to lead cross-functional coordination on data center construction projects, manage design changes, and ensure timely delivery.

The role collaborates with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to support efficient, cost-conscious data center builds. Onsite daily work with construction managers and vendors, owning RFIs, change orders, and documentation flow.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of vendor management experience.
• 4+ years of data center or critical environment experience.
• 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in vendor management and data center operations.

Responsibilities

• Leading cross-functional communication between regional general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Developing tracking dashboards for design modifications, RFIs, and change orders.
• Evaluating Method of Procedure (MOP) submissions for thoroughness and risk.
• Managing vendor onboarding, including security credentialing and orientation.
• Maintaining project management software with milestone updates and records.
• Coordinating owner-furnished material deliveries to sites.
• Establishing a centralized repository for contractor data.
• Overseeing QA programs with checklists and safety/quality controls.
