Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager - Data Center Construction to lead complex projects in Seattle, WA. The role drives strategy, manages resources, and serves as primary client liaison while overseeing project controls and financial reporting.

You will guide team members, coordinate with multiple departments, and support business development efforts with a focus on data center initiatives. A strong PM background and leadership in construction are required for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Ten years of project management experience in construction.
• Five years managing a team.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio).
• Proficient scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera, and/or SureTrak.
• RCDD or CPM designation preferred.
• Working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
• Knowledge of codes required.
• Knowledge of equipment layout and design practices required.
• Knowledge of construction financial programs and software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee activities, project functions and resources for each project.
• Define project assignments for team members and serve as primary customer contact.
• Maintain financial reporting to stakeholders and enforce company policies.
• Coordinate with PM, sales, estimating, accounting and purchasing for decisions.
• Manage subcontractor billing, change orders, and monthly accounting reviews.
• Select, develop, coach and manage staff; build strong field relationships.
• Support business development and client relations across a large client base.
