Job summary

ABB in the United States is seeking a seasoned leader to run the day-to-day Data Center Services Center of Excellence within Electrification Services. This remote role, focused on the US with a preference for Western/Mountain Time Zones, reports to the Director of the Center of Excellence.

You will drive service strategy, improve availability, and ensure a strong customer focus while coordinating surge team activities and cross‑functional collaboration across ABB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business or commensurate experience.
• Sound knowledge of Data Center Start-up and Commissioning strategies, field service personnel development and the electrical industry within the Data Center market.
• Knowledge of MS suite of products including MS Project, Google Sheets/Docs/Drive/Slides, SAP, and project issue resolution software (BIM, Compass, CxAlloy, Procore, etc.).
• Must be able to interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Technical understanding of power delivery equipment: transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, etc.
• Maintain high standards for safety and housekeeping and assure compliance with all environmental regulations
• Strong leadership, clear communication, teamwork, and a proven customerfocused mindset.
• Willing to travel up to 50% of time
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Improves service availability, quality, and customer experience across all field service operations.
• Develops, implements, and reviews field service strategy aligned with global business objectives.
• Ensures strong customer focus, urgency, and care in all service interactions to drive retention.
• Drives continuous improvement, firsttimeright execution, and KPIbased performance management.
• Identifies onsite opportunities to enhance customer operations and communicates them to account teams.
• Leads a culture of operational excellence, risk management, and effective endtoend service delivery.
• Manages resource planning, workload balancing, and compliance with all HSE standards and ABB Way requirements.
• Oversees Surge Team operations, including onboarding, training, compliance, and validation of timesheets, expenses, and supplier invoices.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and development for Field Service Engineers/Technicians to ensure highquality execution.
• Collaborates across ABB teams to assign personnel, resolve technical issues, support project execution, and drive continuous improvement.
