Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer to manage electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems across AWS data centers. You will lead maintenance, emergency response, and technical guidance for Engineering Operations Technicians and vendors.

The role requires interfacing with IT managers to optimize capacity, safety, and efficiency. Willingness to travel between data centers is essential; relocation support is provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• 3+ years of mission critical facilities experience including electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for facilities-related issues.
• Oversee operation and management of routine and emergency services on critical systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures within SLAs.
• Provide training to Engineering Operations Technicians and coordinate with the Facility Manager.
• Create and deploy standard practices for engineers and vendor teams.
• Travel to different data center locations as needed.
