Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager to lead construction project management for new builds and capital projects. You will own scope, quality, schedule, and budget, interfacing with general contractors, performing bid analyses, and maintaining project documentation for large data-center initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers or critical infrastructure or large-scale mechanical and electrical plants.
• Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations, with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure.
• Experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) plants.
• Experience defining data center system-level architecture, documenting performance and equipment requirements, creating and communicating conceptual designs, and creating and maintaining project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases.
• Negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
• Create construction project scope and RFPs.
• Conduct financial analysis of construction.
• Manage projects to increase data center resiliency.
• Review constructability of electrical and mechanical designs.
• Manage construction documents including submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoicing.
• Report key construction metrics to team and management.
• Lead teams in troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis of equipment.
• Read and interpret construction specifications and drawings for all disciplines.
• Define system-level architecture and maintain project documentation.
