Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in the United States, Virginia, Stafford is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager to lead project management and oversight for new builds and capital projects across AWS data centers.

You will own scope, schedule, budget, and quality while coordinating with general contractors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver resilient, cost-effective data centers on time and within scope. This role requires hands-on site leadership and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of construction management on large-scale projects with mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) aspects.
• Experience with general contractor and vendor management (RFPs, bids, change orders, QC, RFIs).
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Windows operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution and closeout.
• Negotiate bids and evaluate proposals with detail and accuracy.
• Create construction scope documents and RFQ/RFP processes.
• Perform financial analysis of construction projects.
• Manage projects and initiatives to increase data center resiliency.
• Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs.
• Handle submittals, RFIs, change orders and invoicing.
• Ensure project quality control and report metrics to team.
• Lead teams and collaborate with internal/external partners.
