Job summary

Air Methods is seeking an experienced RW IFR Check Airman in Dallas to oversee safety and qualification checks for helicopter and fixed-wing pilots during evaluation. The role involves conducting ground and flight training, evaluating operational compliance, and developing training schedules.

Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to FARs, maintaining pilot records, and operating training devices and simulators as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3–5 years related experience or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Recommendation from a current Air Methods Flight Instructor or Check Airman preferred
  • Previous Instructor/Check Airman experience
  • ATP rating in aircraft category preferred
  • Commercial/Instrument rating required
  • Must meet total flight hour requirements

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate safety and flight operations per the General Operations Manual
  • Initial and recurrent ground and flight training
  • Transition, differences and ROC training
  • Report out-of-compliance issues and coordinate with ACP/Regional Directors
  • Develop and implement flight and ground training schedules
  • Adhere to standardized training and checking procedures and FARs
