Job summary

Air Methods in Denver (CO) is seeking an IFR RW Check Airman to oversee safety and qualification checks for helicopter and/or fixed-wing pilots. Responsibilities include initial and recurrent training, development of flight/groud training schedules, and ensuring compliance with FARs and operational manuals. The role requires CFI/CFII rotor wing, ATP is preferred, and commercial/instrument ratings. On-site with DOT/FAA testing. Open until filled.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3–5 years related experience or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • ATP rating in aircraft category preferred
  • Commercial/Instrument rating required
  • Must meet total flight hour requirements

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate operational compliance across safety, flight operations, and maintenance as per General Operations Manual
  • Conduct initial and recurrent ground and flight training
  • Coordinate training schedules and ensure adherence to standardized procedures
  • Support pilot record keeping per FARs and policies
  • Operate training devices and full motion simulators as needed
  • Assist in development of aircraft checklists and pilot training programs
  • Prepare and submit required training reports in a timely manner
  • Travel as needed for centralized or decentralized training activities
