Job summary

Saputo Inc. is seeking a hands-on equipment operator for a 24/7 manufacturing facility in a 12-hour rotation, covering a shift from 5 PM to 5:30 AM EST. The role focuses on the transfer of dairy products, operation of process equipment, and strict adherence to GMP and safety policies.

A strong mechanical aptitude and lift truck capability are required. Starting hourly rate is competitive with opportunities for increases; prior dairy manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing (dairy preferred).
• Advanced training with a concentration in dairy science is a plus.
• Strong math skills.
• Strong technical skills with equipment controls and touch panels.
• Ability to obtain lift truck certification and safely operate lift trucks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated work history.
• Consistent attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate and transfer dairy products following SOPs from blending to processing and filling.
• Run process equipment, heat exchange systems, tanks, pumps, valves, and components.
• Follow processing guidelines to meet Saputo and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with other departments to align with production runs and changeovers.
• Record/document charts and records; audit records at shift end.
• Use computer-based software and automated control systems.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Process product reclaim within defined guidelines.
• Perform CIP/SIP/COP and sanitation; keep area clean and organized.
• Make routine equipment adjustments as needed.
• Maintain department environmental controls and safety policies.
• Operate lift trucks safely and comply with PPE requirements.
• Cross-train with other departments; adapt to shift changes.
