Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing) is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills for customer service.
• Basic math skills for counting, addition and subtraction.

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return.
• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals for the department.
• Monitor all established quality assurance standards.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Answer questions regarding products and respond to customer inquiries.
• Gain knowledge of products and make suggestions to customers.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of dairy specials and availability.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they order.
• Recommend dairy items to ensure customers get what they want.
• Check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and logs are maintained.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and notify about repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all safety risks or illegal activity (robbery/theft).
• Work cooperatively in high paced and stressful environments.
• Manage conflict in a respectful manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
