Job summary

Responsibilities include answering customer questions, suggesting products, offering samples, and ensuring freshness and proper labeling. You will also monitor safety, quality, and compliance with food safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Retail experience required or preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Basic math skills for quick calculations.

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Establish and maintain a safe, clean environment to encourage repeat visits.
• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
• Promote the Customer 1st strategy and reinforce company values.
• Answer questions about products and respond to customer inquiries.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Keep knowledge of products to answer questions and make suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of specials and ensure fresh products.
• Check product quality, dates, and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain temperatures.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts calmly.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
