Job summary

Serco is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer to support the Combat Air Force Distributed Mission Operations (CAF DMO) 3.0 program in Hampton, VA. You will work with DoD customers and Serco teams to test, integrate, and evaluate M&S systems for 5th and 6th generation training interoperability.

You must maintain a DoD Secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI and SAP/SAR, hold a STEM degree with relevant engineering experience, and be willing to travel up to 10% to support DoD training operations.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Security clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI and SAP/SAR.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5 years of testing, integration, software development, or embedded systems engineering.
• Alternative: Associate’s degree with 7 years of engineering experience in similar activities.
• Experience supporting DoD customers in a technical capacity.
• Familiarity with development, test and evaluation of military training or operational systems.
• Must have or obtain within six months DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher (Security+, CySA+, CISSP).
• Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Support simulation system and integration/test to enable DMON and JSE training operations.
• Use tools like Wireshark, simulation protocol analysis, and CGFs for test and evaluation.
• Analyze network and compute performance including latency, bandwidth, and jitter.
• Develop and maintain test plans and procedures documenting activities.
• Draft comprehensive test reports after integration, test, and verification tasks.
• Assist in developing CONOPS and COAs for deployment of evaluated capabilities.
• Contribute to engineering life cycle areas including requirements review and training support.
• Produce concise, well-defined test procedures and test cases under senior guidance.
• Support program processes using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, X-Ray).
• Participate in peer reviews, test bed maintenance, and debugging activities.
• Write and maintain scripts/programs (PowerShell, Cygwin, VBScript) to streamline artifacts.
• Help identify and resolve production and non-production issues.
