Intertek is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our Fairfax, Virginia team. The role focuses on ensuring weld quality, safety compliance, and adherence to D1.1 standards across building and pipeline projects.

The successful candidate will inspect welds, read blueprints, interpret tolerances, and document test results. A valid driver’s license and willingness to work overtime are essential.”

Qualifications

• Must hold AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with D1.1 experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant welding inspection experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances.
• Valid Driver’s License with a reliable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety and environment guidelines.
• Inspect structural steel during erection on buildings and pipelines.
• Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs.
• Document test results and non-conformances and follow up until close-out.
• Communicate findings and suggest process improvements to management.
• Operate testing equipment and measure dimensions to verify specifications.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Technical degree in Welding (preferred)
