Job summary

Intertek in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join the Professional Services Industries (Intertek-PSI) team. The position focuses on welding inspection, quality assurance, and compliance with D1.1 in commercial construction projects.

You will perform visual inspections, test welds, read blueprints, and document results, coordinating with project teams and clients. Requires CWI with D1.1, 4+ years, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must hold AWS CWI certification with D1.1 experience.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant welding inspection experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welding jobs for defects and ensure adherence to specifications.
• Perform visual inspections of welded products in progress and completed work.
• Test and inspect structural steel during erection on sites and plants.
• Document data from quality assurance activities in accordance with procedures.
• Issue non-conformances and follow up to close out.
• Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, and testing to assure product quality.
• Review welded products and input decisions on acceptance or rejection.
• Communicate significant findings to management with improvement recommendations.
