Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) in Cleveland, Ohio to join our Professional Services Industries team. The role centers on ensuring weld quality and compliance with D1.1 during construction projects.

You will perform welding inspections, review blueprints, and document non-conformances, communicating issues to management. A safety-focused mindset and ability to work overtime are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification with D1.1 experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances.
• Must be able to receive and execute written and verbal directions.
• Strong communication skills in verbal and written form.
• Ability to work independently and with others; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety and environment guidelines, policies, and regulations.
• Testing and inspection of structural steel during erection on general building and pipeline sites.
• Inspect general construction and structural steel erection for buildings.
• Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs.
• Inspect welding jobs for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, etc.
• Record results of tests and welding inspections.
• Issue and follow up on non-conformances until the close out.
• Document data from QA activities consistent with company policies.
