Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) in Fairfax, VA to join our Professional Services Industries team. The role focuses on welding inspection, QA, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards across building projects.

The candidate will read blueprints, perform visual and nondestructive tests, document results, and communicate issues for corrective action, while adhering to safety policies and company procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification with D1.1 experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances.
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and environment guidelines are followed.
• Test and inspect structural steel during erection on buildings, pipelines, and occasional plants.
• Inspect general construction and structural steel erection for buildings.
• Conduct visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs.
• Inspect welding jobs for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, etc.
