Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team in Charlotte, NC. The role supports sterile technique, prepares instruments, and collaborates with the Registered Nurse circulator to ensure patient safety and smooth room turnover.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training, and two years of OR experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training in OR tech.
• Two years of operating room experience in a surgical technologist role required as of 2019.
• Current certification preferred. Meets ST II in Surgical Tech Ladder.

Responsibilities

• Assists in aseptic technique and its application.
• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep, assembly of supplies, and room turnover.
• Monitors sterility of surgical supplies and ensures proper charge documentation.
• Performs duties per department policy and procedure; participates in Performance Improvement.
