Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced perioperative nurse to join the CVOR team at UAB St. Vincent's East. You will provide professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures, performing scrub and circulating duties and supporting the operating physician.

The role requires BLS within 30 days, ACLS within 180 days, and an active Alabama RN license. A diploma or degree in nursing is required for hire, with opportunities for career growth

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS within 180 days of hire.
• Active RN license with Alabama Board of Nursing required before hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
