Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking an experienced registered nurse to deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role includes scrub and circulating duties, instrument handling, patient positioning, and collaboration with the operating team.

You must have a diploma in nursing, Alabama RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS per hire, with duties before during and after procedures. This on-site position at UAB St.

Qualifications

• Diploma in nursing from an accredited program and professional licensure at time of hire.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required within specified timelines.
• Licensed Alabama RN credentialed before hire date.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub functions including instrument and supply handling for procedures.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring patient status and managing overall nursing care.
• Directly assist operating physician with tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure.
• Prepare operating rooms and equipment for use.
