Base pay range

$50,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Customs Entry Writer – Freight Forwarding

$55,000 – $70,000 DOE + Full Benefits Package

Company: Mid-sized, international freight forwarder with a strong U.S. customs brokerage division and established client base across retail, automotive, and industrial sectors.

Role Overview:

Seeking a detail-focused Customs Entry Writer with a minimum of 2 years' U.S. freight forwarding experience. You will handle start-to-finish customs entries, ensuring full compliance, speed, and accuracy across diverse commodities. Must be confident working with ISF, HTS classification, PGA regulations, and coordinating with CBP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process customs entries for air and ocean imports
• Classify goods using HTS codes in line with CBP regulations
• File ISFs and manage post-entry processes (protests, PSCs, etc.)
• Communicate with importers, customs, and carriers
• Ensure all PGA (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.) compliance is met
• Track entries, resolve customs holds, and support release process
• Use systems including ACE, ABI, and in-house software

Required Experience:

• 2+ years in U.S. customs entry writing (freight forwarding environment)
• Strong working knowledge of HTS classification and U.S. customs regulations
• Experience with both air and ocean imports
• Familiar with PGA filings and entry audits
• Proficiency in CargoWise or similar system preferred
