Job summary

DHL Express (USA), Inc. is hiring a Customs Entry Agent in Kentucky.

The role ensures compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing shipment, receipt, and documentation for imported products; you will process entries to US Customs, compute tariffs, and examine documents to obtain release of freight while addressing delays. You will interact with multiple departments, maintain accurate records, and support timely clearance through various portals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).
• Overtime is required.
• 1 year experience in transportation or customs preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant databases.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain SIDA badge and related documentation.

Responsibilities

• Participates in planning and directing the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations
• Effectively classifies dutiable import/export shipments to ensure compliance with government rules
• Processes requests for extensions, expiration, cancellation and government entries
• Communicates with origin and destination regarding shipment status and handling
• Applies for Import/Export Permits and Certificates of Eligibility
• Maintains open communication with department of foreign affairs
• May receive and distribute incoming/outgoing mail and correspondence
• Examine invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements to determine HS code for correct classification
• Knowledge of US Customs Regulations and Foreign Trade Agreements
