Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a Customs Brokerage Operations Manager - Freight Forwarding in Philadelphia to lead import/export operations, ensure compliance, and drive profitability. You will coordinate daily team activities, troubleshoot root causes, and maintain customer relationships.

The role requires 4–7 years in the industry, a preferred Licensed Customs Broker, and strong MS Office proficiency to produce reports and SOPs.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years relevant experience in customs/brokerage or related field.
• Licensed Customs Broker strongly preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business material and regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to solve complex problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.

Responsibilities

• Direct import/export operations within the department to ensure compliance and profitability.
• Facilitate daily team communication and support issue resolution.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis with implementation of solutions.
• Monitor team productivity and assign accounts or workload.
• On-board new customers and maintain customer relationships.
• Manage hiring, training, evaluation, coaching and time/attendance for the team.
• Review daily financial and operational reports to identify errors.
• Maintain SOPs for customers.

The Customs Brokerage Operations Manager - Freight Forwarding is responsible for directing the import and/or export operations of the department and related functions of the station while maintaining a compliant, productive and profitable operation.

Your role on the team:

• Facilitate daily communication with teammates, providing support to resolve day to day issues and escalations
• Lead troubleshooting efforts that analyze root causes and implement solutions
• Monitors team productivity and assigns new accounts or daily workload
• On-boarding new customer
• Maintains Customer Relationship
• Manages employees including interview, training, evaluation and coaching, as well as time and attendance for the team
• Reviews daily reports to eliminate errors, including financial reports
• Maintain SOP for customers

What you need:

• Minimum 4 to 7 years relevant experience and/or training in the industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Licensed Customs Broker strongly preferred
• Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Problem Solving complex issues
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
