GEODIS in Philadelphia is seeking a Customs Brokerage Operations Manager - Freight Forwarding to direct import/export operations, ensuring compliant, productive, and profitable performance. You will supervise and develop the team, maintain SOPs, and coordinate with customers and internal partners.

The ideal candidate has 4–7 years in the industry, a licensed customs broker preferred, and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 to 7 years relevant experience and/or training in the industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licensed Customs Broker strongly preferred.
• Must be computer literate with MS Office and ability to read and interpret complex procedures.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily communication with teammates, providing support to resolve day to day issues and escalations.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts that analyze root causes and implement solutions.
• Monitors team productivity and assigns new accounts or daily workload.
• On-boarding new customers and maintaining customer relationships.
• Manages employees including interviewing, training, evaluation and coaching, and time/attendance.

The Customs Brokerage Operations Manager - Freight Forwarding is responsible for directing the import and/or export operations of the department and related functions of the station while maintaining a compliant, productive and profitable operation.

Your role on the team:

• Facilitate daily communication with teammates, providing support to resolve day to day issues and escalations


• Lead troubleshooting efforts that analyze root causes and implement solutions


• Monitors team productivity and assigns new accounts or daily workload


• On-boarding new customer


• Maintains Customer Relationship


• Manages employees including interview, training, evaluation and coaching, as well as time and attendance for the team


• Reviews daily reports to eliminate errors, including financial reports


• Maintain SOP for customers

What you need:

• Minimum 4 to 7 years relevant experience and/or training in the industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience


• Licensed Customs Broker strongly preferred


• Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint


• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations


• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals


• Effective presentation skills


• Problem Solving complex issues


• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
