GEODIS is hiring an Account Representative for Customs Brokerage in the United States. The role serves as the primary customer service liaison and processes Customs and OGA entries for US clearance, with responsibility for data entry in Cargowise/AS400 and HTS classification.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in customs brokerage, solid knowledge of US Government Agency requirements, and strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate with customers, carriers, suppliers, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in customs brokerage or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. Government Agency requirements.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs and OGA clearance of freight.
• PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate the ability to develop relationships with a range of customers.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Ability to multitask.
• Mathematical skills essential to ensure accuracy in calculations.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the customer service liaison between the Company and the customer.
• Processes Custom and OGA entries for clearance of goods into the United States.
• Enters notes and requests in Cargowise and/or AS400 system.
• Classifies invoices based on HTS.
• Sends information/document requests to customers, suppliers and agencies as needed.
• Communicates with offices, departments, and teams on customs brokerage issues.
• Files documents in the shipment/reference folder.
• Coordinates shipments with forwarders, steamship lines, airlines and agents.
• Maintains communication with customers, carriers and vendors.
• Assists customers with questions, tracking and tracing.
• Handles accounting processes accurately and timely.
