Job summary

Ludwig Propane in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Customer Service Associate who will be the friendly liaison between customers and our operations team, handling calls, scheduling, billing questions, and service coordination to keep homes warm and businesses running.

You’ll work with the General Manager, service center, and delivery teams to resolve issues, maintain accurate records, and drive customer retention through proactive outreach and reliable service.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of professional customer service experience.
• Comfort handling phone-based conversations about service, billing, and scheduling.
• Ability to track details accurately across multiple systems and documents.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to follow established processes.
• Experience in utilities, energy, or logistics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound customer calls with clear, respectful communication.
• Support retention efforts by resolving concerns, following up, and ensuring issues are closed.
• Participate in outbound campaigns to retain customers and collect on past-due balances.
• Assist with daily delivery and service operations by resolving routing exceptions and updating customer accounts.
• Provide administrative support including documentation, reporting, route paperwork, scanning, and account accuracy.
• Assist with accounts payable processing and other office operations where applicable.
