Job summary

ThompsonGas in Lexington, NC is seeking a Customer Service Representative to support growth by focusing on customer retention, new customer acquisition and high-quality service. You will handle inbound and outbound calls, data entry, and manage customer accounts with professionalism, warmth and accuracy.

This onsite role requires a degree or equivalent experience, 3+ years in customer service (call center a plus) and sales aptitude.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years of Customer Service experience (Call center experience preferred).
• Sales experience strongly preferred; ability to upsell products in a highly competitive environment.
• Proficiency with CARGAS and MPX systems preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls by probing questions to uncover sales and service opportunities.
• Evaluate sales methods and company programs to meet customer needs and develop leads.
• Address customer issues and respond to inquiries including pricing, billing, products, and new accounts.
• Provide timely, accurate information on order status.
• Enter and update customer account information in CARGAS and MPXsystems.
• Process billing payments for walk-in customers.
• Responsible for processing daily driver paperwork.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
